Bali and luxury spa experiences, a match made in heaven!
If you've ever been to Bali there is a 99.9% chance you have indulged in one of the readily available spa experiences, inclusive of full body massage and total zoning out from the world. I don't blame you - there is quite literally nothing better and if anyone does it the best way, it's the Balinese!
During my stay in Seminyak, I was lucky enough to pop into The Amala with Lifestyle Retreats and treated to an incredible Spa Experience, hour long Yoga session with one of the most amazing Yoga instructors I've had the pleasure of being taught by, and the most delicious healthy lunch ever. And to top it off, it was all in a tropical paradise at the grounds of The Amala.
Starting our morning experience, we entered the grounds of The Amala and were welcomed into their beautiful wooden and stone Yoga studio, overlooking the tropical resort grounds. For somewhere as busy as Seminyak, The Amala's Yoga studio definitely made me feel like I was in a tropical paradise in the middle of nowhere. I'm a super Yoga rookie (and it was also my boyfriend's first Yoga experience ever, he was terrible at it haha!), so it was nice to be taken through the paces with care and attention to detail. Although when the Yoga instructor did the most awesome headstand ever I decided that I wouldn't try that one ... hehe.
After Yoga it was time for our (much anticipated!) massage at The Amala Spa. Opting for the 60 minute relaxing 'Traditional Balinese Massage', we were treated to an ensuing hour of absolute bliss. Starting with a rose petal foot cleanse, foot massage and the most delicious mint cucumber drink, it was followed by a full body massage with special attention to problem areas we had identified to our massage therapist. The whole experience was amazing, with the most beautiful staff - I left feeling absolutely relaxed and refreshed which was exactly what we were told would happen. The best!
After our massage we were then treated to an incredible healthy lunch where I absolutely demolished the best eggplant, tomato, capsicum rolls I've ever eaten (I need these back in my life!) and traditional spiced chicken wrapped in banana leaves. There's actually nothing better than trying new traditional foods that are super healthy for you!
We concluded the morning with a stroll around The Amala grounds, discovering how beautiful it was and how we will have to definitely add this to our Bali Accommodation list the next time we visit. Which will be super soon! Lifestyle Retreats, you sure do know how to do luxury.
